I attempted to force it to reboot via XenCenter, but it wasn&#8217;t working.  Stuck with the yellow symbol.<\/p>\n<p>Found the following commands:<\/p>\n<p>All command line, so get used to SSH as root<br \/>\nGenerally you should SSH to your primary server, but the commands below seemed to work ok on the secondaries (unless otherwise noted)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Get the UUID for your VM<\/strong><br \/>\n<code>xe vm-list<\/code><br \/>\nor<br \/>\n<code>xe vm-list name-label=YOURVMGUESTNAME<\/code><br \/>\nOr grab the UUID from XenCenter<\/p>\n<p>In my case it&#8217;s:<br \/>\n<em>1dd7cc44-0dce-2149-4a9f-27425ee8eae0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Force the VM to shutdown:<\/strong><br \/>\n<code>xe vm-shutdown uuid=1dd7cc44-0dce-2149-4a9f-27425ee8eae0 force=true<\/code><\/p>\n<p><strong>If that fails, try this:<\/strong><br \/>\n<code>xe vm-reset-powerstate uuid=1dd7cc44-0dce-2149-4a9f-27425ee8eae0 force=true<\/code><\/p>\n<p><strong>I also tried to reset the toolstack on the PRIMARY XENSERVER<\/strong><br \/>\n<code>xe -toolstack-restart<\/code><br \/>\nGood to know that command, but it did nothing for me.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If that fails you may need to kill the domain (similar to removing the power from the VM):<\/strong><br \/>\n<code>list_domains | grep YOURUUID<\/code><br \/>\nThe number in the front is the domain ID<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kill the Domain ID<\/strong><br \/>\n<code>\/opt\/xensource\/debug\/xenops destroy_domain -domid YOURDOMAINID<\/code><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I had a virtual machine that was stuck trying to reboot.
