I’ve had this issue more often than I’d like to actually care to remember.<\/p>\n
First thing I check is website security settings:<\/p>\n
Open IE
\nSelect Tools
\nSelect Internet Options
\nClick on the Security Tab
\nClick on the Trusted Sites button (check mark)
\nClick on the Sites button
\nAdd https:\/\/update.microsoft.com, http:\/\/update.microsoft.com, and any other microsoft update related sites<\/p><\/blockquote>\nNext thing I generally check is if the Trusted Sites are actually being trusted<\/p>\n
Open IE
\nSelect Tools
\nSelect Internet Options
\nClick on the Security Tab
\nClick on the Trusted Sites button (check mark)
\nClick on the Custom Level button
\nMake sure that the security is at Medium or below (Medium, Medium Low, or Low) – I generally put this at Low<\/p><\/blockquote>\nAfter that make sure that the following services are enabled:<\/p>\n
Start
\nRun<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
services.msc<\/code><\/p>\nAutomatic Updates\/Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Finally, if nothing else works, turn off Automatic Updates and remove the SoftwareDistribution folder<\/p>\n
Start
\nRun<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
services.msc<\/code><\/p>\nRight-Click on Automatic Updates and select Stop
\nStart
\nRun<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
%windir%\\SoftwareDistribution<\/code><\/p>\nOpen the DataStore folder
\nDelete everything inside
\nRight-Click on Automatic Updates and select Start
